BBC Radio 5 Live has retained Premier League audio commentary rights until the 2028/29 season in a new four-year deal.
BBC Sport has secured four of the six audio packages available, meaning that from next year, 5 Live will be bringing audiences together to enjoy live commentary of 209 matches per season. Every week, at least five of ten fixtures will be available on 5 Live and BBC Sounds, including exclusive commentary to both Saturday 15:00 matches.
These packages provide 5 live with commentary rights to fixtures on the following days and times:
- Saturday 15:00 (two matches)
- Saturday 17:30
- Sunday 14:00
- Sunday 16:30
Heidi Dawson, controller of BBC Radio 5 Live and 5 Sports Extra said: “With more live commentary matches than ever before, BBC Radio 5 Live remains the home of Premier League football.
