The no-code Virtual Reality (VR) FLOW, provides creators, developers and enterprises with a seamless and efficient way of creating virtual, augmented and mixed reality, metaverse style immersive training content without the need to be proficient in coding, in significantly less time it would take a competent developer creating training content from scratch.
“FLOW, marks a significant advancement in the realm of VR content creation through which we aim to empower aspiring creators and developers with the tools they need to craft their own VR training content and break down barriers to offering effective training solutions. The simplified, intuitive content creation process, allows creators to unleash their imagination, bringing their ideas to life, giving them the opportunity to create engaging enterprise-quality training content with unparalleled speed and accessibility,” said Ben Bennett, CEO of Luminous XR.
The no-code content creation tool will officially debut at AWE EU, the global event series,on extended reality, from October 29–30 in Vienna. The tool with pre-build interactions can be used by anyone with basic Unity experience, empowering creators including 3D artists and level designers to build complex enterprise-quality, next-generation interactive XR training content effortlessly, without coding. The training content, which can be experienced through VR headsets mimics real-world scenarios, offers an immersive learning experience, equipping employees with the hard-skills required while ensuring rigorous safety practices.
FLOW’s intuitive interface allows users including game developers, in-house content creators, instructional designers, and learning and development teams, to design immersive training modules of real-world scenarios without the need for complex programming skills. The versatile nature of FLOW can be adapted to create tailored content for a wide range of industries and training scenarios suited for industrial work environments.
Additionally, the multi-language features, ability to create content across multiple training modes and the capability to alter and update content with ease, makes the tool user-friendly, agile and adaptable. Utilitising OpenXR, the applications can be used across preferred headsets.
A trial user of FLOW, proficient in Unity development and C# developed a full training ladder safety app on the platform, saving close to 10 hours compared to traditionally creating content.
Kaan Dillmen, Unity XR Developer at Luminous XR, said: “FLOW was developed to empower content creators with basic Unity experience to create customised and interactive immersive VR content seamlessly. The easy to use interface and faster content creation timelines make enhanced learning content more accessible, beyond what traditional training methods can achieve.”
Placement student Jack Sweet added: “FLOW gave me the tools to fully create an end-to-end app, with the option to add further functionality with custom steps to suit the scenario. Creating the module was straightforward, with step by step instructions to follow. There are plenty of possible different types of interactions to implement, with samples of each type of interactable object with the relevant components provided for reference. Overall, as a first-time user of FLOW, its complex features and resources felt easy to work with to build an immersive training module.”
This latest offering from Luminous XR is the next instalment of their XR training content solutions. The first was PORTAL, the learning management system that allows organisations to manage their immersive training end-to-end. Portal enables customers to manage training content, sessions, assessments and dive deep into student data through analysis. From content creation with FLOW, to deployment with PORTAL, users will be able to streamline and manage all their VR and XR content using the Luminous platform for maximum efficiency.
