All3Media has appointed John Whittle as MD of Liverpool Hollyoaks producer Lime Pictures. He takes over from outgoing joint-MDs Kate Little and Claire Poyser.
Whittle, who was previously Lime’s finance director, will work closely with the company’s creative leaders, including Hannah Cheers, Hollyoaks EP, and the co-heads of the kids and family teams, Angelo Abela and Tim Compton, whose animated series Wolf King is coming soon to Netflix.
All3Media CEO Jane Turton said: “I really look forward to working with John and the entire team in Liverpool to continue building on the success of Hollyoaks and the kids and family drama business and to develop new shows on the back of the current slate.”
Whittle said: “I am delighted to lead Lime Liverpool into its next exciting chapter. With Hollyoaks continuing to innovate as the UK’s youngest digital-first national soap to the release of Wolf King (with animation by Jellyfish Pictures) next year for Netflix, I am looking forward to working alongside our first-class creatives to continue to build on the company’s many successes. Liverpool is in the DNA of Lime, and I feel very fortunate working in this incredibly creative city.”
Whittle became finance director at Lime in 2016. He previously spent several years at Universal Pictures, where he served stints in Australia and Scandinavia, eventually rising to VP Finance in London in 2011.
