PNTA 24

Prolific North has listened to feedback from the tech community and is pleased to offer an extended deadline until 20 September for entries to the Tech Awards.

Now that there’s more time to get your entries in, it’s a good time to remind you that the Tech Awards are open to companies of all sizes and stages, from pre-seed start-ups to fast-growing scale-ups. There are also dedicated categories recognising ambitious teams, Northern tech deals, hubs, marketing campaigns for tech products or businesses and plenty more here.

By entering, it’s an unmissable opportunity to showcase your company and innovations, raise your profile, plus connect with an ecosystem of investors and industry professionals. Don’t just take it from us – previous award winners recently hailed the awards as leading to new business, investment opportunities and even helped with attracting new hires.

If you’re not sure how to get started, check out some of the top tips from the judges below.

Top tips to help you craft a winning entry

  • Register on the awards portal – it’s quick and easy to get started here.
  • Make sure you select the right categories – Have a read of all category descriptions here.
  • Tell us a story – Our independent judging panel represent experts and leaders from across the North’s tech ecosystem, with decades of collective experience between them. When writing your entry, the judges want to hear a story that flows logically, highlighting your approach and points of difference. They will have lots of submissions to read, so to stand out make sure your entries have a clear and compelling story. You can find out more about all the 2024 judges here.
  • Results are key – Ask yourself, what would the judges find compelling? This can be stats, client testimonials, evidence of focus on people or wider social impact depending on the categories you’re entering. Ensure you highlight these clearly and how they measure up to your original objectives where possible.
  • Keep it simple and avoid excessive jargon – While some industry-specific terms are acceptable, overusing jargon can be off-putting. Judges appreciate simplicity!
  • Include supporting material – Supporting materials, such as insightful videos or images, can enhance an entry if they add value and complement the story. Keep them concise and relevant to avoid overwhelming the judges.
  • Finish with a strong summary – Think of the most vital elements of your entry and summarise them for the judges. This is crucial as judges often start there. It should provide a clear and engaging overview of the entry, including the objectives, points of difference, and results.
  • Submit your entries before 20 September!
