Website crashes as Oasis 2025 reunion confirmed

A website set up to publicise the much-hyped reunion tour of Mancunian rockers Oasis crashed this morning after the band confirmed swirling rumours of an imminent reunion.

The Oasisnet.com website was reported as down this morning, while music streaming site Spotify also reported a 160% spike in streaming globally over a two hour period on Monday compared with the previous week, as rumours of the reunion gained traction.

This morning (Tuesday 27 August), Oasis ended years of feverish speculation with the confirmation of a long awaited run of UK and Ireland shows forming the domestic leg of their OASIS LIVE ’25 world tour. Oasis will hit Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin in the summer of 2025. Their only shows in Europe next year, this will be one of the biggest live moments and hottest tickets of the decade.

The band commented: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”

Oasis will play Cardiff Principality Stadium – 4th/5th July, Manchester Heaton Park – 11th/12th/19th/20th July, London Wembley Stadium – 25th/26th July & 2nd/3rd August, Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium – 8th/9th August, and Dublin Croke Park – 16th/17th August.

Plans are also underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year.

Manchester promoters SJM Concerts are among the promoters of the tour, along with multinational musical behemoth and Ticketmaster owner Live Nation – both organisations have previously been heavily involved with the Parklife Festival in Manchester’s Hearon Park, where Oasis will play four dates next July, and which Live Nation recently acquired from founder Sacha Lord alongside the Warehouse Project clubbing brand.

Liam Gallagher, one half of Oasis’ duelling Gallagher siblings, had appeared to confirm the rumours during his set at the Reading Festival at the weekend. Closing his 90-minute performance on a stage bedecked in Manchester City iconography, Liam addressed the crowd by saying: “Let’s give the people what they want!”  The call came at the same time as signs flashed up on the stage screens reading “27/08/24 – 8am” in the classic font used for the Oasis logo. At the same time, his brother Noel, 57, tweeted out the image from his social media accounts, confirming the news.

Oasis, whose debut album “Definitely Maybe” was released 30 years ago, split in 2009 when lead guitarist and main songwriter Noel said he could no longer work with frontman Liam.

Tickets for the UK dates go on sale from 9am on Saturday, August 31st and will be available from ticketmaster.co.uk, gigsandtours.com and seetickets.com. Dublin tickets will be available from 8am that same day from ticketmaster.ie.
