Tony Foggett, founding partner and CEO of Code Computerlove now known as EM Code, will be ‘stepping down’ from his role at the agency after 25 years.
He co-founded the digital and creative agency in Manchester alongside Louis Georgiou and Wini Tse in 1999. A source has told Prolific North that Foggett was a much loved figure at the agency and his departure is ‘unexpected’.
In 2017, the agency was acquired and merged with EssenceMediacom North, formerly MediaCom North, and in 2023 the two entities united and moved into WPP’s Manchester Campus.
Foggett told Prolific North today:
“It was a really difficult decision to make. Code is in great shape, there is a super team leading it and the capabilities it’s brought to the group are integral to EssenceMediacom’s future. It feels like now is the right time to create some space for the next thing for me.”
He added:
“The agency has been such an enormous part of my life for the last 25 years. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to cope with not being around them all day-to-day, but if there’s one thing I’m quite good at, it’s finding the opportunity in change.”
Paul Cooper, COO of EssenceMediacom North, said in a comment to Prolific North: “Over the past few years, Tony has been instrumental in aligning the strategy, culture, and leadership within EM Code and EssenceMediacom North to create a singular, integrated vision. He has crafted a unique and powerful proposition that promises to deliver breakthrough growth throughout the customer journey.
“Tony’s departure leaves us in a great position, with Louis Georgiou continuing to drive the proposition EssenceMediacom North brings to our complete customer journey offering. We are excited about the future and we wish Tony well in his new chapter.”
“Tony has been instrumental in keeping EM Code at the bleeding edge of digital innovation. His legacy of leadership and strategic innovation will undoubtedly continue to influence the future direction of EM Code and EssenceMediacom North.”
